Twilight Saga Ruled 2009: What A Year For Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart
Or should we say a Twilight obsessed year?
Though the first Twilight movie came out in 2008, and the book in 2006, 2009 was definitely the most Twilight year yet. We were on Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner overload. Or would have been, if there was such a thing as Twilight overload. But we just can't get enough. Which is why I have a feeling that 2010 will be very much the same.
Looking back at 2009, we see a whole lot of Twilight. I mean, how many of us even knew who Robert Pattinson was prior to this year? Seeing as I didn't jump on the Twilight bandwagon until the first movie was already out on DVD, I certainly hadn't a clue who Robert Pattinson was before this year. Not to mention Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner, Kellan Lutz, Ashley Greene, Nikki Reed, and the rest of the gang. But now? Now I'm pretty sure I know most details about their entire lives.
So, the first Twilight movie came to theaters in 2008, but it was released on DVD in March of 2009, after much anticipation. Rob, Kristen, and Taylor started showing up at all kinds of awards shows and ended up taking home a whole slew of awards at the MTV Movie Awards in June. If you hadn't already heard of Twilight at this point, you now had. It was also at this point that anticipation really started building for the November release on New Moon. Clips were slowly released, we went crazy over any Twilight star-spotting, and all talk was on the Bella, Edward, and Jacob love triangle.
The New Moon soundtrack came out in October and we absolutely loved everything about it, including songs by Bon Iver, Thom Yorke, and Death Cab For Cutie. And then the movie was finally released in November, and we thought it was absolutely amazing! Some of us even went to see it in the theaters 3 or 4 times. And no, we're not ashamed.
What do you think 2010 will bring? Well, considering Eclipse is due out in June and the anticipation is already high, we're assuming there's going to be a whole lot more Twilight talk. Not to mention, stalking. Because we're still not sure if Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart really are a pair or what. And we need to continue keeping our eyes on Taylor Lautner's abs to make sure they stay as fit as they were in New Moon. Oh and by the way, Taylor turns 18 in 2010. And that definitely gives us something to celebrate!
