Twilight's Edi Gathegi Cast in New X-Men Movie
The vampire known as Laurent
The name Edi Gathegi may not be familiar to you, but you certainly know him from the Twilight movies. He's the actor who played Laurent, also known as Victoria's little friend. Now he has a new role under his belt, and it's in the upcoming X-Men movie, First Class!
We're a little disappointed Taylor Lautner won't be starring in X-Men: First Class, too. Because we would have loved to see Jacob and Laurent together again on the big-screen! But we're just thrilled Edi Gathegi has scored a role in the movie.
According to DeadlineHollywood, Edi will be playing X-Men's first biracial mutant, named Darwin. And much like the vampires of Twilight, Edi's mutant has a special power: he has the power of "reactive evolution," allowing him to adapt to any situation or environment. Doesn't that sound handy?

And while we now know Taylor Lautner won't be playing a young Wolverine in the movie, director Bryan Singer promises some other big names: "Kevin Bacon I do believe is going to happen... James McAvoy is definitely cast as a young Charles Xavier, Mike Fassbender is in the movie, Nick Hoult. Those are for sure."
Edi Gathegi also just finish filming the movie version af Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged. Are you excited to see him as Darwin in X-Men: First Class?
