Vanessa Hudgens Goes Beastly

Vanessa Hudgens was out having fun last night at the LG Rumorous Night in West Hollywood, hosted by Heidi Klum. The High School Musical cutie posed for photos before going in to hang with Disney co-star Ashley Tisdale. But, what's next for this 20-year-old sensation?

We have learned that Hudgens has been cast as the lead female in Beastly, a modern version of the classic Beauty and the Beast. The film will be based on a novel by Alex Flinn and is about a conceited and selfish New York teenager who gets cursed and transformed into an ugly monster until he finds true love.

The movie will be shot in Montreal this summer. Vanessa's leading man isn't yet set in stone, but it's looking like the role will go to blonde 19-year-old English actor Alex Pettyfer, who has been seen on stage and best known for his role in Stormbreaker.

Vanessa Hudgens will be on the cover of the June 2009 issue of Brazil magazine, Caras, where she was asked if she'd made another musical in the future. She replied, "Without a doubt. But right now, I want something more mature to perhaps shock the fans. I'm only 20 and can't play a high school student forever. I want other challenges." Her upcoming projects include a role in the action flick Sucker Punch, as well as the teen musical comedy Bandslam.

On a lighter note, Vanessa revealed to Self Magazine that the body part she is most proud of is her legs. "I have really strong legs. I inherited them from my dad, who has tree stumps for legs...I've got big calves that look good. When I wear heels, it looks like I've worked out my legs a lot, which is why I love them. I also have a big, big, big toe. I call it my goat toe. I can climb anything."

We are sure Vanessa Hudgens' real-life leading man, Zac Efron, also loves her goat toe.
