Vince Vaughn, Kristen Bell Star in 'Couples Retreat'
Love on the rocks.
Vacation is supposed to be a time of rest, relaxation and fun. But when you decide to take one in the hopes of fixing your relationship, all havoc can break loose. At least that's where Vince Vaughn and Malin Ackerman find themselves in the new Jon Favreau comedy, Couples Retreat.
Opening in theaters this weekend, Couples Retreat follows Ackerman and Vaughn as they attempt to recharge their marriage by taking a trip to a tropical island resort. Then their friends decide to tag along, including Jason Bateman and Kristen Bell, Jon Favreau and Kristin Davis, and Faizon Love and Kali Hawk.
But what at first looks like some fun in the sun soon turns out to be an intense couples therapy session that is far from optional.
The film co-stars veteran French actor Jean Reno as a couples therapist and owner of the resort, and up-and-coming comedian Ken Jeong (Knocked Up, The Hangover) as a fellow therapist.
Based on an original idea from Jon Favreau, the movie is actually directed by Peter Billingsley. If the name doesn't ring a bell, you probably know him better as little Ralphie from the 1983 classic, A Christmas Story.
