"It Doesn't Matter To Me -- He's Gonna Die In Prison"

Ruth Madoff had no idea her husband was commiting the worst financial fraud in the history of the United States. In a new interview with 60 Minutes, Bernie Madoff's wife revealed that she never had a clue about her hubby's massive Ponzi scheme, and that she has come to terms with the fact that he will die in prison.

Madoff claims she never had any suspicions whatsoever about her husband's illegal activities, even when he was at his most suspicious. Like when he once asked her to transfer $10 million from her brokerage account to her personal checking.

"I never did. I never did," she told Morley Safer in the new interview. "It didn't seem that way. There was nothing that would make me suspect anything. Sometimes I look back and I think as the years went on, he started to get more and more short-tempered, and maybe he was just having trouble. Obviously, he had to have been."

Bernie Madoff was sentenced to 150 years in prison for running a $65 billion Ponzi scheme, considered the largest financial fraud of all time. Yet even after he tearfully confessed to his family, Ruth stuck by him.

Madoff's sons, however, were not so loyal. Andrew and Mark Madoff turned their father in soon after he confessed. Sadly, Mark committed suicide in December 2010. Andrew, who also spoke with 60 Minutes, says his brother was "the most devastated" by his father's crime.

In the interview, Ruth reveals that, even though she has severed ties to her husband, she has no plans of remarrying.

"I don't know. It doesn't matter to me," she says. "He's gonna die in prison. I certainly don't want to find another man these days."

Madoff also reveals the whole ordeal has left her terrified of meeting people on the street.

"I can barely walk down the street without worrying about people recognizing me," she says.
