Weezer Does Mashups Right

Weezer takes on MGMT and Lady GaGa

There was a whole lot going on this weekend at the T-Mobile party in LA. Not only did Travis Barker and DJ AM play together, but Blink 182 finally reunited! And to add to the excitement, Weezer had an amazing performance.

We're pretty big fans of MGMT and have had a blast listening to the various covers of their hit "Kids." Ben Lee does a pretty amazing one, but right now we're obsessed with Weezer's version from this weekend's T-Mobile party.

Aside from just being excited to hear Weezer sing live, we love that they took MGMT and combined it with Lady GaGa. Crazy, right? But they made it work amazingly. Who knew a mashup of "Kids" and "Poker Face" could sound so good. Weezer is scheduled to tour with Blink 182 and Fall Out Boy this summer and we're hoping for more mashup fun from them. They're also expected to have an album out sometime in 2009.
