Whitney Houston Auction Nets Less Than $100,000
13 Whitney Frocks, Including Some She Wore in The Bodyguard, Generated Just $82,025
We're not sure which is sadder: that 13 garments once belonging to Whitney Houston fetched a paltry $82,025 at a Los Angeles auction last weekend, or that the garments were put up for auction by friends and family in the first place.

Some of the clothes were even among the costumes worn by Houston in The Bodyguard, and several were designed by Marc Bouwer, who met Houston while working with her on a Diet Coke commercial, WWD reports.
In fact, an item designed by Bouwer -- a beaded bustier -- fetched the highest price of all, $18,750.
Houston, who bought more than 500 pieces from Bouwer over the years, had him design her wedding gown for her ill-fated 1992 nuptials to Bobby Brown, and also wore a black, beaded cocktail dress by Bouwer for the 2011 Grammy after-parties.
Darren Julien, the CEO of Julien's Auctions, which held the "Hollywood Legends" auction last weekend, told WWD that Houston's friends and family members had passed along her belongings to the auction house to sell.
