Why Robert Pattinson Missed Kristen Stewart's 'Runaways' Premiere

Thursday night was one of the biggest nights of Kristen Stewart's career. The Runaways movie premiere marked Stewart's role in music history, as she called The Runaways a band that "people should know about" because in the '70's, they made it okay for girls to be rockers and sing what they want. So why would Robert Pattinson miss his girlfriend's big night? We have the scoop.

We were especially curious about Robert Pattinson's absence because he's such a music guy. He's called Kristen's performance in The Runaways "amazing," and the trailer makes it clear that she's got Joan Jett down pat.

But the reason Pattinson wasn't at Kristen's premiere is because he's back in his hometown of London. There he's filming Bel Ami with Uma Thurman and Christina Ricci, and because most of the film takes place in Paris, the producers wanted to go with a set that looked as European as possible. Robert Pattinson said in an Early Show interview earlier this week that he couldn't get a haircut because he was "working" -- so this is what he was referring to. And we've clarified that Taylor Lautner was indeed Kristen Stewart's stand-in date for The Runaways premiereas our friends at Hollywood Life call Kristen and Taylor BFFs.
