Why Tea Tree?

Tea tree oil is seriously great stuff: it's antifungal, antiseptic, natural, and even provides more bang for your buck because it's so powerful. If I had to live with one beauty item for the rest of my life, it would be a bottle of tea tree oil. Here's why I love it, and where I'd buy it if I didn't have a virtual lifetime supply stocked up!

Tea tree oil is better than harsh cleansers and creams for clearing up pimples: it's the original blemish-buster than zaps bacteria and ooziness (gross). Taken from the leaves of a tree native to New South Wales, Australia, it's even been suggested that it's equally as effective as benzoyl peroxide skin treatments, although it takes a bit longer for it to kick in.

Since tea tree oil can cause irritation when it's used in full strength, I'd pick mine up from The Body Shop, which I noticed today (while shopping!) has a great selection of various products. The face wash is a must-buy, and it's available in a sizable 8.4 fluid ounce bottle for $11. If I were going to pick up one more tea tree product, it would be their tea tree oil blend for $9.
