Will Fall Out Boy Break Up?
Will Fall Out Boy have another hit?
Pete Wentz has been hinting that Fall Out Boy might not come out with another album. He says they don't have plans to break up, but he doesn't know what the future holds for them. Would you miss Fall Out Boy if they broke up?
Pete Wentz held on online chat in which he chatted with fans through his one-night only Twitter account (he deleted it right after the chat session was done). One fan asked if we could expect a new Fall Out Boy CD next year and Pete responded, "I'm not sure. This may be the swan song. But we might have another in us. We'll see."
As expected, fans went a little bit crazy. Does this mean Fall Out Boy is breaking up? Pete tried to clear things up by saying, "No, we're not calling it quits, but [we've got] no future album plans right now... We can't quit, we're waiting to get fired." And then, "There aren't any new FOB songs currently because we don't write music just for the sake of it. At the same time, tomorrow maybe we will. We will stop doing FOB when it stops being fun."
OK, so that makes sense. It was probably just the words "swan song" that were a poor choice. We wonder if Pete Wentz is too consumed with his family life and raising his son with Ashlee Simpson to worry about creating new album material. If Fall Out Boy were to break up, do you think Pete would still make music? We're pretty sure Patrick Stump would. But instead of them breaking up, we can see them doing more of a fading away. Would you be sad?
