Will Ferrell, Ewan McGregor are Most Overpaid Actors

Money in Hollywood is no joke, so we're guessing Will Ferrell isn't laughing at the latest news from Forbes.com. In a recent list, the comedian and actor was named the most overpaid actor in the industry.
The financial news website compiled the data for the list by looking at 100 stars who have played the lead in at least three movies in the past five years. They then used a formula that calculated the film's revenues compared to the actor's salary.
As it turns out, Will Ferrell scored the worst: Forbes.com shows that the actor was paid a dollar for every $3.29 his films earned. Honestly, after releases like Old School and Land of the Lost (which cost $100 million but only made $65 million), I'm not surprised.
In second place is Scottish actor Ewan McGregor who, while not one of Hollywood's highest paid actors, brings studios a terrible return average of $3.75 for every buck he makes.
Rounding out the list's top ten are actors like Billy Bob Thornton, Leonardo DiCaprio, Ice Cube, Eddie Murphy and Jim Carrey. Actress Drew Barrymore was the only female to land on the list, at an average of $7.43.
In seventh place is Tom Cruise, whose huge paychecks and deals where he gets a portion of the box-office sales make him a risky bet.
