Women Clamoring For Blake Lively's Locks
NYC stylists say "The Serena" is the new Rachel.
Gossip Girl is emerging as a style-intelligencer for young women in the post-Sex And the City era. What's the latest look that New York City stylists say women want to imitate? "The Serena" - Blake Lively's Farrah-inspired locks on the show.
Experts say that Serena Van Der Woodsen's hairstyle is meant to communicate the concept that she's a ritzy-raised Upper East Sider whose hair can only be fashioned so perfectly in an expensive salon. But now women everywhere want to test it out and see if they can pull it off.
Set stylist Jennifer Johnson says the look can be tricky. First they wrap Blake Lively's wet hair in a sophisticated chignon so that after it dries it holds elegant, wavy body. Then they take a big-barrel curling iron to it to create the famous curls that sweep away from Blake's face.
Stylists say the key to mastering the look at home is making sure the curls appear loosey-goosey, not sticky and stiff. We're planning to experiment with it for the holidays -- blonde or not!

Blake Lively's getting it right...better than the makeup mix-up we caught her in recently...ouch! Meanwhile, our other hair icon Robert Pattinson is poking fun at his own look, suggesting he looks like a mad professor.
