Women Drink to be More Confident in Sex: Study

Combining alcohol and hormones has lead to more than a few mistakes. But that doesn't stop people from drinking and doing the deed. According to a new study, millions of women prefer being drunk for sex rather than sober because it helps them overcome anxieties about their bodies.
In the study, researchers surveyed over 3000 women between the ages of 18-50 and found that, on average, they had slept with a total of eight men. Of these eight, the women were drunk with at least five, and with two they didn't even remember his name in the morning.
The study also found that 75% of the women preferred drinking before having sex with their boyfriend or husband. 14% said they can't sleep with a lover without having a few drinks beforehand, and a whole 6% said they had never even had sex while sober.
"The fact that alcohol plays an integral role in their love lives shows that women are looking for a boost in self-esteem when it comes to their bedroom antics," said Kathryn Lakeland, the head researcher. "But in doing so many women will be losing self-control, and this is when drunken one-night stands are more likely to occur."
So if you find yourself chugging flasks and 40s just to get in the mood, it may be time to put the bottle down and take a step back. Your self-esteem will only get lower with liver damage.
