Women Who Drink Wine Have Better Sex, Says Study

If you've always thought booze made sex more enjoyable, science may have finally agreed with you. According to a new Italian study, women who drink wine every day have more enjoyable sex than those who don't.

The study, conducted by the University of Florence, surveyed 800 women between the ages of 18 and 50 about their sexual happiness. A score was then determined based on the individual's sexual satisfaction and arousal levels.

The results, on a scale of 2 to 36, showed that women who drank two glasses of wine a day scored 27.3, while those who drank one scored 25.9. Women who drank none scored an average of 24.4.

"Historically, the aspects of wine and sexuality have been well known since the time of Ancient Greece,” said Dr. Nicola Mondaini, the head researcher. "But the field of female sexual dysfunction is still highly unexplored."

Interestingly, the study also found that older women had higher scores as well.
