If the rumors are true and Simon Cowell produces the Saturday Night Fever remake, it looks like Zac Efron could be starring in the lead role. You know, the one that was once played by John Travolta.

It's a classic loved by millions. And now Simon Cowell could be re-making it, which is something we're really excited about. It seems to be the thing to do these days- remake musicals. And Zac Efron always seems to be the one to call. We thought he didn't want to do any more musical movies, but this looks like one he could take. And could be absolutely perfect for.

It has been said that Simon Cowell is in talks with the 1977 screenplay's producer, Robert Stigwood, about remaking the classic. If he gets the rights, he already has a list of people he wants involved on the project. And it's likely that Zac Efron could take the lead role of Tony Manero.

We love the original Saturday Night Fever soundtrack, which is done mostly by the Bee Gees, but of course Simon will need to change that up to. And we're really curious about Timbaland, who has been identified as a possible contender. That could be crazy interesting.
