What do you get when you combine teen drama, vampires, and a cult following that makes even Hogwarts fans look apathetic? Twilight -- the biggest thing to hit the horror-romance-fantasy genre since a kung fu cheerleader named Buffy.
Based on the best-selling series of books by Stephanie Meyer, Twilight tells the story of a young woman, Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart), who falls in love with a handsome vampire named Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson). Lucky for her, this particular bloodsucker is on a strict no-humans diet. His friends, however, are not, and it’s up to him to save Belle before she ends up demon dinner.
The film opens at midnight Wednesday, and drooling fans everywhere are already sounding off about expected sequels. If it’s anything like its literary counterparts, there’ll be plenty of blood to go around for a long time to come.

Brad discloses both a lot and a little to O.
Mr. Brad Pitt hit up the Oprah Show yesterday to talk about his latest film, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, and life as a father of six. While the kiddie talk was quite revealing, the rest of the interview was closed off and at times cover-your-face-with-a-pillow awkward.
"I'm impervious to poo, snot, urine, vomit," Brad told Oprah. "You can't get me. You cannot break me down."
One super fan who was Skyped into the show really couldn't get to Brad. She asked him (repeatedly) to reveal the meaning behind one of his tattoos, but Brad was having none of it, at times looking visibly irritated.
There were also no questions about Jennifer Aniston, no mention of the fact that his film opens on the same day as hers (Marley & Me), an omission that seemed odd given the grilling Jen received about the same topics when she was on the show last week.
All in all, there were a few cute moments, like when Brad revealed that Shiloh only wants to be called John. "It's a Peter Pan thing." Or talked about Angelina. "She's an inexhaustible mother and great grace and the real glue of the family."
Yet the free-spirited, fun-loving Brad looked fidgety and flustered much of the time. Maybe his little moustache was irritating him?

She's not your average teenage girl.
Who is Kristen Stewart? If you can't answer that question, you haven't yet been inundated with Twilight mania '08. We're jealous.
Ms. Stewart is one of the pretty young things who stars in Twilight, playing Bella, a delicate soul who falls in love with a vampire.
As with most movies about teenage angst, this one is filled with plot twists and misunderstandings, made all the more complex by the fact that her boyfriend wants to suck her blood.
You may recognize Kristen from her role as Jodie Foster's daughter in Panic Room, as the young love interest opposite Adam Brody in In the Land of Women, or as a wandering musician who has a brief romance with Emile Hirsch in Into the Wild.
Soon, those roles will be a distant memory. She has officially entered the Twilight zone.

No worries, remaining Winona Ryder fans. The klepto actress is all right. Yesterday, the star fell ill while aboard a flight to London's Heathrow Airport.
Whether the illness was caused by a chill from her recent Posh-esque pixie hair cut, or her ingestion of too many Valiums, the London hospital says, “She’s fine now.”
