Let the excitment begin.

It's been such an exciting morning! And no, not because our blueberry muffin was especially moist.

The Golden Globe nominations were announced this morning, silly! And there were some surprises.

The late Heath Ledger was nominated as Best Actor in a Supporting Role, though Dark Knight didn't get any GG love. Both Christian Bale and the movie itself were ignored.

Brangelina was recognized in all their smug glory. Angie is a contender for the Best Actress award in a drama for her role in Changeling, and Brad might take home a Best Actor award for The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.

In more surprising news, Mamma Mia! is getting quite a lot of attention, as is James Franco for his genius turn as a stoner in Pineapple....

Angelina talks Afghanistan...and marriage.

How does she do it? It must be exhausting to be Angelina Jolie. We're tired from making our daily commute. Meanwhile Jolie, mother of six, working actress, and active humanitarian returned on Friday from a two-day trip to Afghanistan.

Jolie made a visit to the country--her first--as part of her work with the UN Human Rights Campaign. As High Commissioner for Refugees, Angelina visited Nangarhar and Kabul to visit with some of the many displaced Afghans who have returned home since the fall of the Taliban in 2001.

Of her visit, Angelina said, "The courage, resilience and quiet dignity of returnee families rebuilding their lives against the kind of adversity few of us can imagine shows the human spirit at its best."

Jolie was also talking marriage--or, rather, her kids were. While doing rounds of press for her new film, Changeling, Angelina said sooner or later it would be the kids who would ask them to get married. "You know, they see films and start asking questions. Such as, ‘Why are Shrek and Fiona married and you’re not?’”

These flicks are painful.

For sheer quantity of blood and pain, you can't get much better than the Saw series. There’s a changing of the guard in the newest installment, Saw V. Apparently Jigsaw is really dead this time, and the task falls to a budding young slasher to continue his tortuous ways.

For those of us who prefer our horror via dance numbers and teenage drama, High School Musical 3 hits theaters this weekend. The end of four glorious years has the kids (Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale) scrambling to capture their rabidly energetic innocence in one final blowout performance.

Ever feel like your little brother or sister was swapped for a look-a-like troll? That's the premise of the new Clint Eastwood movie, Changeling, starring Angelina Jolie as the real life Christine Collins. After her son goes missing, the LAPD tries to offer Collins another boy.
