Police in Berlin have been informed that they are not allowed to wear apparel by Fred Perry, Ben Sherman, ACAB, Alpha Industries, Consdaple, Lonsdale, Pit Bull, Outlaw, Troublemaker, and Thor Steinar while on duty.
And no, it's not because these brands produce low-quality cotton products. Rather, authorities consider these labels popular among neo-Nazis and view them as a sign of right-wing extremist views, which officers should not be associated with.
Wow. Way to take it there. Really, if I spotted a police officer in Lonsdale jeans, I don't think I'd be too disturbed (unless they were acid-washed and ill-fitting).
Who is disturbed? The fashion labels themselves. Although Thor Steiner has strong ties to neo-Nazi groups, Ben Sherman and Fred Perry have worked hard to distance themselves from such associations.
